debate that will be brought to the forefront. activists will protest a germantown clinic. sherrie johnson is in with the details. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. activists against abortion plan to protest at a clinic being opened by a nebraska late term abortion doctor. activists and clergy plan to hit the streets this morning at the reproductive health services clinic. dr. leroy carhart is opening that clinic e wants to make sure women have access to the procedure by expanding what is legal including here in maryland a new nebraska law does not allow abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy. a few doctors publically acknowledge they perform abortions late in the pregnancy. >> it's not like a big city, but what will you do? >> you don't want to be in a area or community where your clients are scared to show up. >> reporter: carhart worked with george tiller's late term

this educated savvy business owner fired up the mac and began searching. >> bull dogs are not cheap at all. sometimes they are 1500 to $2,000. >> reporter: she found one cheap from a vet. a doctor garcia in north dakota. >> he was look for a good home and offered it to us for $600. i was informed to go to western union and wire $600. >> reporter: she did. but she says the next e-mail told her she had to send more money. >> i got an e-mail from the relocation service informing me that it's to pay another $1250 for supposed insurance. my heart sank. >> reporter: when she learned where her money went, her heart sank even further. >> the money went to vietnam. >> reporter: there was no doctor. it was the classic foreign puppy scam. someone in another country stealing a photo from a legitimate ad and reposting it in a phoney one. >> it's the same dog. >> it is. you could. >> reporter: that's the same

helping the local ecomony. catering unlimited hired more people this month to meet demands. >> i am look at eight to ten people to take care of this month. >> reporter: some customers say it's not that they have more money to spend this year. they are trying to pay for holiday parties more wisely. >> honestly, as far as the ecomony, it's less expense turf have it catered than going to a restaurant and paying for the room and per person and if you have drinks and if you have that and stuff. >> reporter: whatever the reason, it makes for a happy holiday for local caterers and the extra people they are hiring. >> and that was katy reporting. the catering comeback doesn't seem to be stopping at christmas time. local caterers say people are book more for new years edevelopments and parties as well -- events and parties as well. we are asking you for a new unwrapped and unopened toy for our 12th annual kindertime toy drive. this year's drive is dedicated to four fallen police officers. and we are teaming with the
